Hi Guardian Cos,
Thanks for your reply.
I understand that you are on the way to fix the adding domain issue. Moreover, if you have updates on the issue, we would very appreciate if you share related information in the forum.
For the second question, you mean to recreate these 12 users with guardian-cap.com addresses in the office 365 portal. In the meantime ,you want these users under guardian-cap.com domain to get the emails that been sent to email address under homeguardian.org domain. Is it correct?
If so, please refer to the following link:
http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/cc498704.aspx
For further research, I suggest you post a new separate thread about the email address theme in the forum. After that, our support engineer will help you with the email address requirement in the new thread.
Thanks,
Ida Qiu
Hi Aaron Yuan ,
The problem is the same , did I really must change my Name Server 1 and Name Server 2 to point to microsoft online server? There is another people doing testing also with E3 plan in my organization , using domain that my organization bought from the same domain registrar with me , but she not face any problem like this.So that why I need to know , why my domain need to change Name server, while her not.
Until now,
I successfully set this domain( peroneus.com) to be able to
1.send and receive email from internal organization.
2. successfully send email to outside ,but failed to receive any email from outside of the organization.
could you clarify what is happen?
Hi Paan,
You don't NEED to change your DNS server (NS1 and NS2).
This is not the problem.
The problem is, that you are trying to receive mail for the same domain, in to different places.
To clarify.
When a mail-server sends a mail to @peroneus.com, the mail-server asks the DNS-server where to send the mail.
This is called a MX record.
A MX record tells mail servers. "Send mail to this domain, to the server with this name"
The server name is a A-record.
For your domain:
peroneus.com MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = mailstore1.secureserver.net
peroneus.com MX preference = 0, mail exchanger = smtp.secureserver.net
This tells us, that our mail-server will try to send mail to two servers. If the first one does not answer, the next one will be contacted.
So in order for mails to be send to Office365, those information has to be changed to something like:
peroneus.comt MX preference = 20, mail exchanger = peroneus.com-mail.eo.outlook.com
However, if you do this, mails will no longer be send to your initial servers, resulting in none of the other employees will receive mail.
TQ for explaining this to me , now I understand . This MX value ,is it must be configure at domain registrar account or could manually configure at DNS record at office 365 account. If yes,how to do that?
I am also trying to do the same thing using Campaign Monitor and am having the same problem with the TXT entry not supporting any characters other than letters and numbers. I need to enter "cm._domainkey". The additional problem I am having is that it is not recognizing a new Sender ID record to my account, which is also required by Campaign Monitor. It seems to be in conflict with the existing TXT record for outlook.
Hi Tom,
You are welcome. If you have any questions about Office365, please feel free to post them here.

Thanks, I've added some feedback requesting this functionality.
1. Run desk-top set up as suggested in this article:
http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-enterprises/ff637594.aspx
2. Create a new profile in your Outlook.
3. Set up the profile automatically:
1) On the Outlook 2010 toolbar, click the File tab. Then, just above the Account Settings button, click Add Account.
2) On the Auto Account Setup page, Outlook may automatically fill in the Your Name and E-mail Address settings based on how you're logged on to your computer.
3) If the name in the Your Name box isn't correct, click the option button next to Manually configure server settings or additional server types, and then click the option button next to E-Mail Account.
4) Click Next on the Auto Account Setup page of the wizard, Outlook will perform an online search to find your e-mail server settings. You'll be prompted to enter your user name and password during this search.
5) If Outlook is able to set up your account, you'll see the following text: Your e-mail account is successfully configured. Click Finish.
Hi Robert,
I’d like to clarify that you want to change the email domain address without losing the data. Is that correct?
To change the email address domain, please perform the following steps:
1. Login to Microsoft Online Portal.
2. Click “Users” under Management panel to show the users list.
3. Select the users that you want to change the email domain. Click “Edit”.
4. Then you can change your email address domain to a verified domain.
Changing the email domain in this way, the data associated with the email address will not be lost.
Note: the new custom domain must be verified.
Thanks,
Kevin Cui
Hi fiona,
How are the things going?
In addition, do you need further assistance on the issue?
Thanks,
Ida Qiu
You can change it at the current DNS-supplier you are using.
It will have no effect changing anything in the Office365 DNS, as no servers will look at that for information. (Hence NS1 and NS2)
Actually you can take a look at office365 DNS, to be sure about the MX information you need.
But still, be aware that NO mail will be send to your current mail-server if you change this.
