Hi cdhcpa,

1. No. The SkyDrive and Office 365 are two separate services and they cannot "share"/"link" accounts.

2. Could you provide more detailed information about the question? SkyDrive Pro is a part of Office 365 Preview; you can sign in SkyDrive Pro with your Office 365 Preview account.

3. Currently, it is not available to migrate P1 pan to Office 365 Preview, please keep monitor Microsoft official website and this community to get latest information.

4. You can remove your custom domain from P1 plan and add this domain in your Office 365 Preview account. To protect email data, please use PST file:
   http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/dd401503(d=loband).aspx?sl=1

Note: all data in the Preview account will be deleted when the Preview ends, including email and calendar data.

5. Yes. Please monitor Microsoft website for the detailed timeline and information.

Re: External User Access

Hi Irvin,

To share a sub-site specifically for external users, please configure that site to make it has unique permissions from the rest of your sites. Then you can give permissions to external users only for this site.

Please refer to the steps as below:

1. Navigate to the sub-site, and then click Site Actions -> Site Settings ->Site permissions.

2. Click Stop Inheriting Permissions under Edit tab

3. Create a new group, add the external user account into this group and grant permissions to this group as you want. Or, you can grant the permissions to the external user directly.

When you invite an external user, the user shows up in the “Team Site Members” or “Team Site Visitors” group. Therefore, the group has permissions for entire site collection, so you need to remove the user from that group.

Thanks,

Nancy Xie

Hi Chris,

Test the external sharing with another Office 365 tenant users would help us to narrow down whether the issue is Windows Live related or Office 365 side related. Before this, I would like to double confirm have you tried to invite an external user on the top level site collection as I suggested?

Thanks,

Re: Cannot access Team Site

Hi Phi,

I understand the issues as following:
1, Two admin encounter the “Access Denied” error when attempting to access Manage Team Sites from Admin page, they also encounter error when attempting to access team site; The site owner can access the team site.
2, All admin can’t access the libraries with special permission.
If I misunderstood anything, please let me know.

Please refer to the following steps to try resolve the issue:
1, Login to your team site with the site owner account.
2, Click Site Actions, click Site Settings, click Site Permissions under Users and Permissions;
3, Click Check Permissions on the ribbon;

4, Input one of your admin’s display name, click the Check Names icon (beside the box), after that, click Check Now;
Do this for the other two admins, if possible, capture the result and post them in this thread.

5, Click Close, click Owners in the page; Please capture the displaying and post it in this thread.

6, Note if there is a “Company Administrator” user in the Owners Group; If not, click New, input “Company Administrator” , click Check Names; click OK.

For the inaccessible libraries, you can try the following steps to grant access:
1, Login to your team site with your initial global administrator account.
2, Click the library name on the quick navigation, if any error occur, please capture the error message and post it back.
3, If you can access the library, click Library panel, select Library permissions, add “Company administrator” to the “Owners” group.

Thanks for your continued patience with this issue, any updates, please feel free to post.

Thanks,
Evan Zhang

Verifying a .co domain

I am struggling to get a .co domain verified. The DNS records are OK - I have checked them using a DNS lookup tool but Office 365 still says the Domain is only party redelegated. I have been through this procedure before with a .co.uk Domain and everything worked fine first time. I am wondering if your system doesn't like .co. Domain names.  I am using prout.co

I have followed your instructions and the following screen prints are here for your review. This may end up with someone having to access my laptop to follow my actions. I am at my technical limit now and do not feel we should have to rehash the errors over and over. Apologies are no longer sufficient. We need this fixed.

Hi AnnP,

Thanks for your post.

Could you give me a screenshot of the error message that you are receiving when you attempt to verify your domains.

In addition, please delete the existing TXT record and try to add the domain again. You can create a new TXT record or MX record to verifiy it.

Note: Once you add a domain and attempt to verify it, it can take up to 72 hours for the DNS changes that you make to propagate through worldwide DNS.

Thanks,

Jerry Cen

Re: Retention Policy

I found this and it solved the problem: Once Powershell is open and connected to the Office 365 service, run the following line:

Set-RetentionPolicyTag "Deleted Items" -AgeLimitForRetention 730

That would extend the period that items are kept in the Deleted Items folder from the default 30 day period to 2years (730 days).

Seems to work, and since this amends the default policy tag, it applies to all mailboxes without having to apply it individually.

Nancy,  Thanks for the reply.  I think "Team Site Members" and "Team Site Vistiors" are groups in the E1 or E3 plans.  I am in a trial of the P1 plan and they are listed as just "Visitors".

The suggestion though would be to have the invite dialog configurable so that I can choose the group I want to assign the external users to.  That way they only have access to the sub-stie as soon as they accept the invite.

Thanks,

Irvin

My domain e-mail

This has probably been asked many times before, but I have recently joined 365, I have a 'onmicrosoft' domain as well as my own domain verified, but I cannot get my own domain e-mail -why?

Hi KarenOC,

Before moving on, I would like to confirm more information.

1) As for "I cannot get my own domain e-mail", do you mean you can't receive the email from other users?

2) Are you using Microsoft Office 365 for enterprises or Microsoft Office 365 for professionals and small businesses?

If you are using Microsoft Office 365 for enterprises, have you added DNS records to configure your domain for Exchange Online?

You can refer to this link: onlinehelp.microsoft.com/.../jj655360.aspx

If you are using Microsoft Office 365 for professionals and small businesses, have you changed the domain’s name server (NS) records on your domain registrar to the Office 365 primary and secondary name servers?

You can refer to this link: onlinehelp.microsoft.com/.../gg549203.aspx

Thanks,

Jerry Cen

Hello Jerry

I am using Office 365 for small businesses, all DNS changed to primary and secondary name servers some weeks ago, domain name appears as verfied and redelgated, but no sign of any mail that other users have sent to me?

Re: Domain Name not Verified

Vivian / Jason,

This still does not answer the question as to why this is all so complicated and difficult.  Name servers and domains and MX and all that - why do I really care??  I used a MicroSoft product, purchased domain names through their portal, and then elected to stay with MicroSoft when they decided to transition their product to a new product - that I would be happy to be paying for if it were at all effective.  Instead I have months of interrupted service.

So now I'm paying for defective services.  Honestly, it worked better when it was free.

Can you send me your suggestions in a step-by-step instruction list?  Then I can just follow the instructions and get this situation fixed.

Let's try one last time - with your detailed instructions for me - and if it doesn't not get me up and running successfully, I'd like a refund and I'll go elsewhere.

Thank you,

Bridget Powers

Editing user's email address

I have a user who just got married and she needs to change her email address to reflect her new last name. She would like to have the incoming emails sent to the old email address to be forwarded to the new email address.

My understanding is that if I change her existing email address to her new last name, that is basically "deleting" the old email address and thus, that old email address will not be able to receive any more emails. (please let me know if this information is correct/incorrect)

I wanted to make sure that the most efficient solution for this one is to add a new email address (instead of editing her old one) and have the old email address be a proxy for the new email address ... and then eventually (maybe after a month or so), delete the old email address.

Thanks!

alNV

The error message is just the standard error message 1 - "verification DNS record not found" - although DNS Lookup programs are finding it fine. Domain was added Sunday night. Anyway. I have done as you suggested - deleted everything and added it again - so will wait a while a see if any thing different happens.

Thanks

Hi alNV,

To solve your question, you need to leave here current email address as it is, however you should add the new mail address to her mailbox then make the new mail address as the primary one.

All that can be done within the O365 Portal -> Exchange Management -> Her Mailbox Properties.

Office 365 setting up exchange

My company has been using Office 365 Small Business for a while and just today when creating  a new user I have had the issue of the "setting up exchange.....this may take a few minutes" not completing. I have removed the exchange license, waited a few hours, re-applied it, and nothing. I have also deleted the user and tried recreating it. Is there anything else I can do to get this new account set up?

Hi Richard,

I think you should submit a support ticket to Office 365 Support.
