Hi clement,

You definitely can create sub-site in your team site. Could you please capture a screenshot of the tree view which confuses you and post in the forum (please mask the private information before you post them)?

I have attached a screenshot which might shows a bit more clear in the structure.

You can find that I have 4 sites in this site collection, which are Team Site, Website, Search and SubSiteUnderTeamSite.

When I go to the SubSiteUnderTeamSite and click the “Navigate Up” button, it clearly shows the structure of the site collection.

I hope these screenshots will give you a better picture.

Thanks,
Kent Gu

Web-Forwarding to a URL for my Hosting Company

Hello all,

Hopefully someone has some insight into this.

I have an external web-hosting company.  My website is hosted and exposed as a URL (not a direct IP).  For example:   http://www.myco.com/~mydirectory

I've forwarded my Name Servers to Office365 for Outlook, SharePoint Team Site, etc, etc. and want to keep my website hosted exactly where it is.

So, now, I have Office 365 as the Name Server for my domain and would like to forward any www traffic to http://www.myco.com/~mydirectory

This doesn't want to work.  I try an A record www creation and it's IP or nothing.

I try a CNAME www creation and it seems to have a dislike for the tilde ~ symbol.

My previous DNS provider just allowed an option cleverly named... web-forwarding.

Any ideas?

Hi Cherry,

Currently ,Office365 doesn’t support to grant permissions via Web. Please try to follow the first way(via PowerShell) to achieve your goal.

I have listed the detailed steps for you. It will be not difficult as much as you think.

Thanks,
Jacky Ding

Hi Chris,

If you want to use the SharePoint Workspace 2010 and don’t want to sign up to Office Profession Plus, you can purchase the SharePoint Workspace 2010 separately. Please refer to SharePoint Workspace2010.

For the second question, the BCM is unavailable to Office365 customer currently, here is the link of Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010 for your reference.

Re: Add 2nd Domain with externally hosted DNS

Hi Perry,

As users of Plan p, Office365 suggest you point  your domain’s Name Server to Office365.  Office 365 will automatically create all the DNS records that are required for the domain name to work with each service.

Of course, you also can use your domain name with Office 365 without redirecting your Name Server records to Office 365. But there will be limitations on your Office 365 services, more information, see this link: http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/hh416759.aspx#bkmk_limits .

To add your domain to Office 365 but continue to manage your domain's DNS records, please point your domain’s Name Server to Office365 to finish all verifications at first, then you can re-point the Name Server back to previous addresses.

After you finished these , Do not forget to create corresponding records for Office365 at your domain registrar: http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/jj655390.aspx

Thanks,
Jacky Ding

If I have a current subscription for both plans (P and E) can I still use the .csv method to transfer all of the account details from the P account to the E account?

I just want to make sure we can automate the process.

We'll probably not be going ahead with the change until after Christmas now, as we're moving our offices over the next couple of weeks.

 Goodevening Jason,

I have to set the put some extra records in the dns from my hosting. The problem is that my hosting company says that they don't support 365. I tried to do it my self but the record does not look the same.

Re: Web-Forwarding to a URL for my Hosting Company

Sorry, but this does not address the issue outlined in my original post.

As I stated - I have attempted both the A record and CNAME record creation.  Prior to posting here, I did a search on articles and help related to the creation of DNS records in Office365 as well as searched these forums.  It seems that the subject line "web and DNS" is immediately lined to these articles which are really just a "how to create an A record" and "How to create a CNAME record".   As I stated in my post - I already attempted this.

The concern is that I need to do web-forwarding to a URL.  The URL is formatted as per my original post.

I can create the A record to an IP where my site is hosted - no problem.

I cannot seem to create a CNAME formatted    http:\\www.mysight.com\~subdirectory

It gives me errors about needing to be greater than 3 characters (which it is).

Also, the redirect to the generic DNS configuration information is also incorrect and not working - there are several comments to that affect.

Hi Conor,

Unfortunately, we can’t check what IP addresses have accessed the Office 365 account.

Thanks,

Jacky, you entirely missed the point of my question, which is how to add a 2nd domain.  The first domain is added and working and DNS is hosted externally. As I stated in my post:

"I want to add a second domain to the account so I click on Add a Domain and I then I click on Yes I want to finish setting up mydomain.com. Steps 1-4 are complete but I cannot complete step 5 because it requires that DNS be hosted with Microsoft so the step fails."

If I don't complete steps 1-5 it won't let me add another domain. but step 5 will not verify successfully because it is based on DNS being with Microsoft.

Thanks for that Jerry,

Is there anyway of telling when my account was accessed?

Meeting requests were sent from my account i was thinking someone logged in and sent them accidently, or could this be a bug?

Hi,

Multiple meeting requests are getting sent from differant users to everyone on the meeting list.

This is happening at times when the users arent even logged on.

Any ideas? its the same meeting request all the time.

Conor
