I have an example; after deleting pages and sites, i wanted to rebuild from the foundation up.
Under my TeamSite, I added a Staff Site. It is listed in Site Content as the first entry, followed by the libraries, todo lists, etc. In tree view the parent site is the web facing site ... so far so good :) In the top ribbon area, the title is Team Site; makes sense
When i Click on StaffSite link in the Site content menu, i am redirected to that site's web app page... still good :) but behold the ribbon states Staff --- (public Website)---TeamSite ---StaffSite. In tree view, the parentage is (public Website). This is what i find to be confusing, since the info is different from one page to the other.
According to the diagram you posted, shouldn't i be able to have a subsite on my team site?
