I have found a fix for this issue.
For whatever reason CCleaner fixed it. I ran CCleaner and cleaned up some old registry values and a few other things and after doing so and restarting my computer, it now has been fixed. The community here does a good job of responding in a decent amount of time, but i feel that it is lacking a bit as far as giving solutions to try and help fix problems. This is the 3rd or 4th problem i've had that majorly affected productivity within o365 and either a solution was not resolved or I ended up fixing it on my own. I don't know if Microsoft has strict policies about offering to download third party software and thats why things like that are not suggested or what, but sometimes third party software is the best way to go...and sometimes third party software is better than OM software (no one can disagree with that statement).
CCleaner did the job.
