1. For the description "upgrade from XP + Office 2003 to Windows 8 + Office 365 + 2013 Small Business Premium subscription", did you mean the following points?
1) Change the computer operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 8.
2) Use Office 2013 client.
3) Change from Office 365 Exchange Online service to Office 365 Small Business Premium.
2. For "this transition to subscription model", did you mean the service upgrade? Have you received a notification email about service upgrade?

Currently, Office 365 Small Business Premium is a trial version. Office 365 Home Premium has released on Jan 29, 2012. The subscription is different as what we offered in Office 365 Office Professional Plus service. In terms of the current situation, about the switch between different subscriptions, we need to cancel current account and then sign up for the plan we want.
If you mean the service upgrade, and haven't received the notification email, actually, we will send an email about a month in advance. We'll inform you of the exact date two weeks beforehand.
