In regard to the issue, since this could be caused by various reasons, to solve the issue, please try the steps below:
- What’s the version of Windows 8? Is it 32-bit or 64 bit version? Please note that Lync should be keep in the same version with the OS.
- When you said install Lync for Windows Store, do you mean that you’ve installed a Lync Windows 8 App and login in without error?
- Before you install the new Lync client, have you check in the Program tab in Control Panel to see if there is any old Lync versions was installed in the PC? If there is, please uninstall them first and try install the new one to see if it will work.
I’ve done some tests with Lync 2013 preview in my Windows 8 and found nothing wrong, I suggest you to download Lync again from Office 365 with the same version I mentioned and try again. Please feel free to post your updates here at your convenient time.
