Retention Policies
Re: Retention Policies
P.S. The retention tab in OWA is greyed out.
Re: disable Bounce Address Tag Validation
Hi leunam013,
Based on your description, I would like to confirm the following information:
Would you please give me more information about the effect from Bounce Address Tag Validation on sending emails through the faxes?
You can configure SMTP reply in Office 365 for the faxes. Please refer to the following article:
How to configure an SMTP relay for Office 365: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2600912
Thanks,
Anna Shi
Re: disable Bounce Address Tag Validation
hi Anna Shi
this is why
The error you are receiving 'Email address not recognized' is caused by a feature of the email address you are using called "Bounce Address Tag Validation". This feature is not supported by our new servers and you will need to contact the provider of your email address to have that feature turned off
thanks
Re: Uploading Multiple Photos Using 365 on a Mac
Hi kbeach,
According to your post, I suggest you check the Address in step 5 is correct, it should be like https://contoso.onmicrosoft.com/teamsite/sitepages/home.aspx.
Note: You can access this site and have related permission.
In addition, to be compatible with Office 365, make sure that you have the latest updates for Office for Mac 2011, please check updates for Office for Mac 2011:
1. Open an Office application (for example, Word 2011).
2. On the Help menu, click Check for Updates.
3. Choose automatic or manual updates.
For your last question, I want to confirm that you want to connect SharePoint site with SkyDrive app for Mac or connect to SkyDrive with Document Connection.
Thanks,
Eben Liu

Re: Retention Policies
Hi Natalie,
Before moving on, I would like to confirm is the policy a new custom retention policy or you directly modified the default MRM policy?
If you created a new custom retention policy, this wouldn’t influence the default MRM policy.
But based on your description, this issue could be caused by lost permissions. Please follow the steps below to firstly check your “Role assignment policy” and “Administrator Roles”:
To check “Role assignment policy” : Log into MOP->Click “Manage” under “Exchange”->Click “Users and Groups”->Click “Mailboxes”->Double click your mailbox->Click “Mailbox Settings”->Check if the “Role assignment policy” is “Default Role Assignment Policy” , if not ,change to “Default Role Assignment Policy”.
To check “Administrator Roles”: Log into MOP->Click “Manage” under “Exchange”->Click “Roles and Auditing”->Click “Administrator Roles”->Double click “Records Management”->Browse to “Members”-> Check if you are the member of this group. If not, add yourself into this group.
After you finish the above steps, try to re-add retention tags into default MRM policy and save it.
About the retention tab is grey in OWA, this is a normal situation, if you want to modify your mailbox’s retention policy, follow these steps: Log into OWA->Click “Options” in the upper right->Choose “See All Options”->Click “Organize E-mail”->Click “Retention Policies”.
Thanks,
Jacky Ding

Re: Migrate external domain and mail or not?
Thanks Linda. We have the Small Business Premium Preview version of Office 365 running in a small charity. We want to synchronise documents and email for a small HQ team of volunteers. The vast majority of the email addresses on our domain are for volunteer associates around the world who have never and will never use the organisation's IT facilities. Their email never comes to the office as it is automatically forwarded by our web host. The domain simply provides a common identity.
A subscription fee for all those volunteers who never use our IT is out of the question.
We operate a public website with a subdomain for each country we have volunteers.
If I understand you correctly, Office 365 Small Business Premium cannot cater for our situation on either count (emails or website) so we should continue with our present arrangements for them. "Simple Domain Sharing for SMTP Email Addresses" looks promising for HQ, thank you.
Perhaps Office 365 can manage documents and email for HQ if we leave the website and all other email where it is.
From what I've described, is that the way we should go?
David
Step 2 of Setup: Hosting company IP address does not pass the "Check Now" Step.
Re: P1 website not available and emails no longer getting through
Hi Paul,
I checked the domain you offered and found the domain doesn’t exist. To help troubleshoot the issue more efficiently, would you please check if you have posted the right domain?
Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Ella Huang
Re: disable Bounce Address Tag Validation
Hi leunam013,
Could you provide more detailed information about sending mails through the faxes?
As Exchange Online service doesn't use this method to check whether the ‘Return Path’ is acceptable, do you mean you received Non-Delivery Report when you send mail through faxes? If so, please post the full NDR to this thread.
Thanks,
Ray Yang
Re: Cached Page Issue
Re: Cached Page Issue
Re: Cached Page Issue
Yes and then it appears to work when I navigate to the web site in the same browser. As soon as I use a different browser (from my pc, tablet or phone) or I clear my cache on the same browser it reverts back to the previous published page. It is really strange because the page in my admin site shows te changes saved.
I'm at a complete loss.
Re: Cached Page Issue
What is wierd is that this is one of 3 sites I manage but I've never seen this happen before on the other two sites.
Re: P1 website not available and emails no longer getting through
The domain is correct. This problem is usually because the domain registration has expired. It's the owner's resonsibility to keep it current. For your domain this is what who.is shows:
Registration status: Renewal required. *** This registration has been SUSPENDED. ***
