Yes, that is because we removed the CNAME record yesterday, so our on-premise Exchange server was in control again. The IP address you saw was properly 85.82.14.xxx right?
After support from one of your colleagues, we found the problem to be that we are subscribers of Exchange Kiosk (K1) plan, which does not allow MAPI (Outlook Anywhere).. So I feel somewhat stupid having spent the last two days trying to figure out what was wrong :o)
