Regarding your situation, I would appreciate if you can capture a screenshot of the error message you received when synching files from Office 365 to iPad or iPhone. You can post it in the forum for further research.
If you prefer to uninstall Office programs installed, you can click Start, click Control Panel. And then click Programs and Features. Then select the program you prefer to uninstall, click Uninstall. Follow the wizard to finish the uninstall process.
