Actually there are two versions of IE 10 in Windows 8, the Metro style and the desktop style. Please make sure you are using the desktop IE 10 style version. If you have already chosen the correct IE version, please re-run the desktop setup to configure your environment.
In addition, there might be some anti-virus or firewall softwares on your computer which blocked the necessary ActiveX. If it is possible, exit these softwares, and try to access OWA again.
If the issue cannot be fixed by these steps, could you please capture a screenshot about the error and post it here?
