Business Contact Manager
Re: Edit SPF record
Hi Ben1974,
Thanks for Jesper Stahle’s information.
To solve the issue , I would like to confirm with you:
- You said “I have been instructed to 'add Email-OD.com to your SPF record that might fix the issue'”. Can you provide some screen shots here?
- What is your mail service deployment? Did you only use Office 365 service to send email ?
The SPF record that is needed for Office 365 service. Just add that TXT record. No need to follow the that the DNS hosting provider’s instructions
Thanks,
Jason Jiang

Re: 3rd party app cant send mail with different display name
Hi
In the 3rd party software I cant change the the display name. Is there no way to allow emails sent from the 3rd party app through 365 to have a different display name?
Re: Use GAL for contacts
Hi pbartow,
Based on your description, I would like to confirm more information:
1. Do you mean that you want to store all the contacts and have them available in Outlook and devices?
2. When you mentioned that “It appears that there are some serious limitations to the GAL, since there are only a few fields available” please give me more detailed information about the limitation.
If it is the case, there are two methods for sharing contacts in Office 365:
1. If you add the external contacts in the global address book, the contacts will be available for the whole tenant users.
Create a New External Contact: help.outlook.com/.../ms.exch.ecp.newcontact.aspx
2. Grant full access permission of the Contacts folder to others.
One user can share the contacts in his\her mailboxes to others by granting the Contacts folder permission. You can do this with the PowerShell cmdlet Add-MailboxFolderPermission.
Thanks,
Anna Shi
Re: R: Re: R: Re: Some specific support about an email address required
Hi VDP,
To know about the situation clearly, I’d like to have a look at your mailboxes on ECP. Please capture the screen shots I mentioned above.
You can click Settings under Outlook on Admin page.
1. Locate the Mailboxes tab, capture the screen shot of the mailbox list and post it in the thread (remember to cover your private information).
2. Locate the Distribution Groups tab, please also capture the screen shot of the group list and post it.
I understand that emails sent to info@domain.org are forwarded to your Google account, now you want emails sent to vdp@domain.org also be forwarded to your Google account. You can use inbox rule to achieve this. For detailed information, refer to help.outlook.com/.../bb899620.aspx

Re: Edit SPF record
Jason,
Thanks for trying to help.
1. Screen shots of what? I'm not quite sure what you mean here.
2. I use Office 365 service to send and receive email. The exception is below. In this scenario, MS365 is only used for receiving the email.
The crux of my investigation is that I am trying to prevent our email newsletter going into my junk folder. This email is sent via the following route: Access database emailer > relayed via internal SMTP server > socketlabs 'SMTP' provider > Recipient. It was socketlabs who suggested I add 'Email-OD.com to your SPF record'. I assumed they meant MS365 spf record, but now I'm not so sure.
You mentioned 'Just add that TXT record'. Could you give a bit more detail exacly what and how please?
Thanks again,
Ben
Re: Business Contact Manager
Thanks for the reply. I'm having a hard time finding a way to contact Business Contact Manager support directly. Do you happen to have a website address for them?

Unable to Remove Domain
I keep receiving the following error:
We can't remove the mycustomdomainname.com domain because of one or more of the following issues:
There are user accounts associated with this domain.
There are email or Microsoft Lync accounts using this domain.
I have read all the related threads/comments and checked (and double checked) my current settings, but am unable to find the culprit that is causing this error.
Please kindly advise.
Re: How to manage business and personal email address for custom domain?
I have only one domain with multiple users. Only one user for O365, if i route all of my email by applying the DNS server changes as instructed, would the other user have to change any configuration on their current email clients to continue to receive emails?
Get-MailboxPermission shows user's first name and a number
Hello.
When I use "Get-MailBoxPermission - Identity mailbox@company.com | fl" it shows the User properly if the User is a group.
But, if the User is a person, it shows their first name and then a number. This is not useful.
How can I get this command to display the User as the user ID or something more useful than a first name and a number?
Thank you,

mails sent as html arrive as plain text with images/attachments stripped out on blackberries
I have been on the phone with Microsoft and Rim all day. The issue seems like it should be a simple fix with turning of a feature to make html convert to plain text. It's not that simple. I have searched hundreds of web pages and talked with multiple representatives about the issue and no one is trained to resolve the issue. When I ask for some one else like a tier 2 support rep they get offended and will not provide me the help I need.
I have explained it several times . I'm writing this post so who ever monitors the forums has a clear understanding of what is happening.
A water monitoring station sends an html file to an email with alarms for water if the water is not safe to drink.
The file is sent to the exchange server where it can be accessed and read.
From exchange it is sent to outlook and BlackBerry® Business Cloud Services from Research In Motion .
The email can be read in html format fine in outlook .
The blackberries receive an html file stripped of all formatting.
I beleive the issue is with the BlackBerry® Business Cloud Services from Research In Motion but no one at RIM or Microsoft know who supports it or what to do when it has issues.
Currently I'm faced with 2 resolutions
Stop using blackberries and start using windows phones with active sync
or
Stop using Office 365 with BlackBerry® Business Cloud Services from Research In Motion
and revert back to our old exchange set up.
Both resolutions are extremely costly when this should just work in the first place.
Re: mails sent as html arrive as plain text with images/attachments stripped out on blackberries
Hi,
Could one option be to configure the software in the monitoring station to send the email as rich text instead of HTML? Also, maybe this is a known error for the software in question and there is a software patch available? Have you approached the vendor/support for the monitoring software?
You say that you have approaching Microsoft and RIM - but in fact, the source file that is causing problems is originating from a third party, which maybe have seen the issue before.
Best regards,
Jesper Ståhle
Re: How to manage business and personal email address for custom domain?
Now I understand you, You want to migrate one user to O365 and others still stay at original place , Both of them will use the same domain and all can work normally.
You can see link below as reference:

Re: Unable to Remove Domain
Hi ewq,
To remove the custom domain, you need to free the domain from your tenant. You must first remove the domain name from all users, groups, or Office 365 accounts associated with the domain.
1. Change the suffix of your users to the primary domain (domain.onmicrosoft.com).
onlinehelp.microsoft.com/.../ff637577.aspx
You can change the domain suffix on Details tab.
2. Please also edit the domain suffix of distribution group. Click Details button of the group. Locate E-mail address field and change the domain suffix.
3. Delete all the proxy addresses connected with this domain.
help.outlook.com/.../cc511403.aspx
4. Please also check if this domain is used by SharePoint online.
Moreover, you can refer to this KB to troubleshoot this issue:
support.microsoft.com/.../2284755
After that, you can wait some time for the provision and try to remove the domain again.
Thanks,
Young Yang
Re: Contact us
Dear Stuart,
Sorry for my late response.
I have kept monitoring the issue these days, I just send three test emails to www.vitalizeconsultancy.co.uk/.../Events.aspx today, and all emails have been sent successfully withour error. Can you please check whether there are emails contents including "test from Microsoft" in your mailbox.
Would you please kindly test and let me know whether issue existed.
Can you please also kindly check whether "Alert me" feathure working properly in your SharePoint site?
As we know all emails send to users from SharePoint is from SharePoint mail system by default, I would like to confirm whether the mail system in your SharePoint site working fine or not.
Re: Contact us
Dear Squirter99,
Sorry for my late response.
Can you please kindly let me the link for contact us in your tenant, I would to have test it with my hotmail as well.
By the way, would you please also kindly help check whether "Alert me" feathure working properly in your SharePoint site?
As we know all emails send to users from SharePoint is from SharePoint mail system by default, I would like to confirm whether the mail system in your SharePoint site working fine or not.
Multiple Email addresses
I am currently implementing 365. Up until now I have used Office 2010. I have 4 email addresses that emails come to me through, all with the same domain address. Only the prefix changes. I notice I can only link one email address to a user. However, I need emails from each of these addresses to come into the one email box, the same as it does in office 2010.
Shared email boxes is not the answer as I do not want to have to go and open a shared box to see them. I just need them to come into my main email box. I was able to do this in 365 from my mail host, prior to moving the email hosting of these addresses to 365.
how do I do this?
Peter
Re: Edit SPF record
Hi Ben1974,
Since you have verified the domain in Office365 Plan P and also change the name server and point to Office365, you can't change the setting on MOP (Microsoft Online Portal). If it's the case, you need to change back the name server record and point to original DNS hosting provider. After that ,you need to manually setup the DNS records.
More detail information, you can see at http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/hh416759.aspx
'Just add that TXT record' means you can add SPF record as a TXT record.
Thanks,
Jason Jiang
