Download files from office 365 to pc

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am having a problem with Office 365 and I would appreciate your help:

I am trying to move in SharePoint a folder from one document library to another. Therefore I have followed what I found recommended on the internet in order to deal with this problem: I choose the library --> then the file or directory I want to move or download to my pc ---> library tools ---> library ---> Open in Explorer. I get the message (I translate from Greek) "The program-customer does not support opening this list using Windows Explorer". I get this message 99% of my attempts. Please also note that I enter the system as Admin.

Could you propose a way to solve the problem?

Best regards,

George Stylianakis-Managing Director

Screen: www.bormat.sk/exo.jpg

Domain name: bormat.sk

The TXT name is not @ (cause it can not be) but bormat.sk, therefore is the record named bormat.sk.bormat.sk

Or, I can try to add MX record, can You help me to do it? (write the procedure)

If you notice in the MX record it should be also set the priority.

Hello George,

Based on your description, I understand that the issue occurred when you try to use Open with Explorer in your SharePoint Online library.

You can follow the steps as below to troubleshoot this issue.
1. I suggest you use 32bit Internet Explorer Version 9.
2. Run desktop for Office 365 by following http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-enterprises/ff637594.aspx
3. Make sure that the WebClient service is running.
   • Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then press Enter.
   • Locate the WebClient service, and check if its status is set to Started.
If not, double-click it, click Start, and then click OK.
4. If the issue persists, you can add https://*.sharepoint.com/ in the Trusted Sites zone of Internet Explorer.

For your reference:

If the issue persists, the screenshots and any information related would be appreciated for our further research.

Cannot access Team Site

I tried to access our team site from the home page. When I did I received the following error message:

An unexpected error has occurred.

Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation.

Correlation ID: 4458244b-9032-47f2-a5c1-4cf254ab8a2b

Date and Time: 10/24/2012 9:06:48 AM

When I clicked on the troubleshoot link it only referenced office applications help links.

We cannot access our documents or libraries.

This is a major issue to us.

I cannot send emails to other company members who are not on 365

We only have 2 licences for Office 365 which works very well for managing sales leads and logistics within our small business. We also have email addresses on the same domain name that are not on 365. When I send an email to these addresses it gets bounced straight back.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks

Paul

Custom Startup Script for Authentication

Does anyone know of a way that we can run a script on system startup that will authenticate with O365 SharePoint?  We have mapped drives to project folders in SharePoint but keep losing authentication.

Hi Phil Guercio,

I understand that when you accessed your Team Site via the link on the home page.

To narrow down the issue, please confirm and try the following information:

1. Which Office 365 plan are you using, Small business (P plan) or Midsize business and enterprise (E plan)? If you are using P plan and changed the address with custom domain, please try to change the address back to default address, then try to log into it.

2. Try to log into the Team Site via entering into the Team Site address URL on the browser directly.

3. Please try to clear the caches, cookies about the browser.

Thanks,

Ida Qiu

We are a P1 plan customer. We have always accessed the team site after logging into 365. We have not changed the sharepoint domain name since it was kept when we moved from trial to paying customer. The link to our team site does not work from my browser (Either IE9 or Google Chrome). This issue is new to us today.

Hi Sanna K,

As I understand it, when you try to open pdf file directly from the team site, it appears an error—“The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect”.

I did tests with my Office 365 small businesses and enterprises account, it works well.

I suggest you install the latest version of Adobe Reader from the official site and then run desktop setup from the portal site (portal.microsoftonline.com/.../default.aspx) to see if it works.

Thanks,

Hi,

You need to configure the domain to Shared, otherwise Office 365 will think that it knows about all the recipient for your domain.

To change this:

1. Log on to Admin Portal

2. Open up Exchange Control Panel (From the Administration Overview)

3. Go to Email Control

4. Hit Domains and Protection

5. Double click the domain in question

6. Change to Shared and save the settings

Best regards,

Good question LMR.

If anyone came up with such a script, that would be most helpful.

Just remember that simply authenticating to SharePoint is not sufficient for mapped drive to work. In my experience there is only two ways to authenticate for mapped drives.

1. Through “explorer view” in Library on your SharePoint site

2. Through an Office open dialog. Clicking SharePoint sites will trigger authentication (on my Windows 8 PC authentication is also triggered choosing the mapped drives directly from Office open dialog – no need for the SharePoint sites detour)

After doing one (or both) of these things, mapped drives will be authenticated.

It would be great if this could be automated!

I’ll have to correct my self on my previous post. When I test now, authenticating to the SharePoint site is sufficient for authentication to mapped drives. This was not the case when I tested a few months ago, so that makes thing a little easier.

Actually, the latest version of Adobe isn't required anymore. Nothing has been announced about a change but pdfs now open in IE with Adobe 8.

In IE you should see a box with a red x for any bad image links that were pasted. You can delete those or delete the whole page to clean it up.

How can I verify just registered domain without buying primary/secondary DNS?

$

Hello,

I am trying to register new domain with intention to fully transferring it to Office 365. I specified O365 name servers (ns1.bdm.microsoftonline.com, ns2.bdm.microsoftonline.com) during registration as I don't want to pay registrar one year fee for primary/secondary DNS hosting.

How can I verify domain in that scenario as O365 DNS management is not available prior to verification?

Thanks,

~vg
