Re: Cannot access Team Site

Hi Phil,

Thanks for your update.

I understand major users in your organization encountered a new issue during accessing team site. As many users are used to accessing team site by clicking the Team Site bottom on the header of Portal page, and the link won’t continue to take effect after user changed the team site default URL. Would you like to perform the following steps to change the default URL back and see if any updates?

1. Access your team site Site Settings page by opening this URL: http://yourdomain.com/teamsite/_layouts/settings.aspx

2. Click Title, description, and icon under Look and Feel section->change web site address, type “teamsite” in the dialog box->OK, for example:

In addition, if you even cannot access your team site Site Settings page, I suggest you check the service status on Service Health page.

Admin page-> Click Service Health under Support->Check if there are any abnormal status in the form.

Thanks,
Maggie Li

Re: How can I verify just registered domain without buying primary/secondary DNS?

Hi VladimirG,

Thank you for post here.

To verify a domain to Office 365, we need to add TXT/MX records at DNS hosting provider first. Regarding to your situation, I would like to suggest you contact your domain registrar to check whether they can provide you a few months trialed DNS hosting service. If yes, then you can add your custom domain to Office 365 continuously.

However, this issue is outbound of our Office 365 support scope, I would like to suggest you contact your domain registrar for more detailed information. If there are any questions when adding domain, please feel free to post a new thread in this forum, we are happy to assist you.

Thanks,

Edward Qu

When I checked service health every check was green. I tried your suggestion to access the site settings and that took me to the same error message. The problem is with the team site and we cannot access an of our shared documents or libraries. We request that you open up a service request to resolve this issue since, as a P1 customer, we cannot do it from the admin function.

Turn this into a service request. Our company relies on the team site to conduct our business. Without access to our shared libraries, documents, etc we are dead in the water.

Vivian,

I completed the steps - yet again - and waited (another two weeks~ this time) and I still do not have my second domain name verified.

Is there something you can do on your end to make this happen?

The domain I need to verify is sports-ortho-massage.com.  Its the one that is printed on my business cards, etc., so it is pretty critical that this happen.

Please see what you can do.

Thank you,

Bridget Powers

Creating External Contacts - PowerShell

Hi All,

We have just moved over to Microsoft 365 and i am trying to add about 100 accounts to the external address book. I have used Windows Powershell once so far to disable the password expiry but this next step is proving to be much more difficult.

I am following the details on this page - http://community.office365.com/en-us/wikis/exchange/579.aspx and i have downloaded the sample spreadsheet and insert our contacts details in to the correct columns, as a test i tried to put one user in and i get the following error:

This error seems to happen every single line that is in the CSV file which i found out by also running the full contact list with the 100 users in to it. To me it looks like New-MailContact is an incorrect paramenter.

Any help is greatly appreiciated.

Rich

I tried all your suggestions again using Firefox browser and still no action. Some of my users can access the team site others cannot. The other admin for our site cannot see any issues from their end. I hate to be redundant, however we need this issue resolved immediately!!!!!

It seems i can now access the team site. The problem now exists that the two admins for the site (I am one) cannot access any library where we established secure permissions for limited user list. We included both admins. We also cannot set new permissions for any other library. Our admin functions seem to have degraded. Please have someone contact me so we can get this resolved quickly.

Hi Yang,

thanks for reply. I have already recovered emails 14 days old (all of them). But I need to recover older deleted messages... Is it possible or are they really permanently deleted? Archive on this user was/is not active.

Thanks,

Jan

Move of my domain to office 365, but stumbling in the process.

The process to move a domain to office365 is to first create a record at the webhost/dns provider, then prove theownership in admin in office365, and then point the name server to microsoft ns1.bdm.microsoftonline.com

But: the process stumled: first the name server was set to ns1.bdm.microsoftonline.com.

Now there is a catch 22: the webhost cannot do anything since the domain point at office365, and office365 is not able to verify domain ownership and I do not get the domain in my hands.

is there a way out of the mess, and where might it be?

Sharepoint external users can't accept invitation

Hi,

I have a Office365 P1 plan. I can't share my SharePoint with external users.

External user invitations is set to active.

I have followed the instructions to invite them via the "Share Site" menu item.

This sends a email as expected (I've tried different accounts include hotmail.com ones) but when the link is clicked, if the user is signed into hotmail (different computer to the one with the admin account), I get the message below.

What's going wrong?

Thanks

Chris

Hi Rich,

I run the step 2 successfully according to the link that you provided with sample file. I copy the command to power shell from the link, so the command is right ,please check if you save the sample file as csv(ms-dos) file and change the name to ExternalContacts.csv and put it on desktop.

Best Regards,

Jacky Ding

I'm having the same problem and need to modify my DNS so it redirects to another host without affecting my email service. What is the link to fill out a service request? Thanks!
