I can't thank you enough for all your help.

 

I am still getting the same error (404 - File or directory not found) when going to "eventionllc.com" directly (versus www.eventionllc.com).  My current configuration is shown below.  Should I have an A record that somehow points to www.eventionllc.com and then have the CNAME point to that A record?

 

Again, I greatly appreciate all your help.

Chris: Any luck so far? We've been having similar troubles, with both Hotmail and LiveID accounts. I even walked through the whole shebang with a Microsoft Premeir support staffer, and demonstrated the problems. We've asked MS to a) insure everything works according to service description and b) provide end-user and site-owner documentation (end users = those w/ hotmail accounts and those with LiveID-associated e-mail accounts).

Hi, 


I have recently setup office 365 for a client. The client has 2 domains which have both been verified on office 365. I can send email to users on both domains.


WHen i try and setup outlook 2010 with for the users of one domain, i receive a message saying that "an encrypted connection could not be made" 


I have checked the auto discover settings and all appears fine. the user names are correct. what else could it be?

Incorrect understanding.  It's my bounce email from postmaster@primarydomain.  The primary domain seems to be the FIRST domain I setup, but when I signed up I was only testing  -  now, I want any bounced email notices to come from postmaster@newPRIMARYdomain.com.

How can I change the default server domain for things like postmaster emails for bounce notices?

Q2: How will I access the google apps email that was received after the move since the DNS records take some hours to propagate?
A2: According to your situation, you can setup an auto forward at Google apps email account and forward the mail to the related user account which on Office 365 server with the UPN (User Principle Name) “user@xxx.onmicrosoft.com”, so the mail will auto forward to Office 365 during time of DNS propagating.

Moreover, in order to better research and troubleshoot the problem, please run a test in Remote Connectivity Analyzer: https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/
Choose Office 365->Outlook Autodiscover under Microsoft Office Outlook Connectivity Tests.

Have you run the Office 365 Desktop Setup? Please run/re-run the Desktop setup to see if anything improved.

Hi Andy,

According to your description, the issue can be caused by the firewall setting of PTR record checking with the destination email server.
I have checked the DNS setting of your domain, every DNS recorders are fine.
Under normal conditions, the server will check the SPF/TXT record for filter the Spam Mail and you have finished setup this recorder, but some Exchange server will check the PRT records for filter the Spam Mail, that the root cause of this issue.
Since that Exchange server is managed by their IT team, so I suggest you contact their IT team for add your domain into the white list.

Purchased new plan on Thursday 11/8, been waiting for over 24 hours for Exchange to be provisioned and need to start email migration from local Exchange server.  Please help!

Hi wildirishtime,

From the description “The primary domain seems to be the FIRST domain I setup, but when I signed up I was only testing”, do you mean that you set up two Office 365 accounts or verify several custom domains on Office 365 portal?

The bounced notices can result from the different level of the general server, such as FOPE, Organization, Recipient and so on. If you are using several custom domains on Office 365 portal, you can try to follow the following steps.
1. Log into the Admin Page with Admin account.
2. Click the company name on the upper right quarter of the page.
3. Click the Edit on the dialog box.
4. Beside Default domain, click the drop-down list and select the domain which you want.

Thanks for your posting here.

I understand that you have wait for at least 24 hours, however, Setting up Exchange Online …this may take a few minutes still persists.

In general, this issue occurs if the service has not finished provisioning for the company. So, would you please directly type http://mail.office365.com in your web browser and enter your Office 365 credential, to see if you can access OWA successfully?

If the issue persists, it also recommends removing the Exchange Online license and then re-assign. Please wait for at least 15 minutes before reassign the license.

Wilfred,

My email address is in their whitelist.  It was before the switch to Office365 and their IT team has verified that it is still on the list.  I could send mail to this site before the switch but not after the switch to Office365.  When I run the MXToolbox against my domain there is an SMTP Reverse DNS mismatch - DNS does not match SMTP Banner.  Not sure what that is but here is a

Hi Ida,

I will do what you askd me and try to get help from the "Ikea" customer on monday.

BUT, what about the custome I dont know about and when he will send me a msg he will get this error? I will loss this customer.

It sould go to "SPAM" but never gave such an error msg.

What more, he gets the msg from the same address how announced as "Canceled" ??? (see the simple NDR I sent)

Please put some trace on my acount and see maybe I have some more that didn't complain to me.
