Re: Setting up Exchange...this may take a few minutes - over 24 hours now

Thanks for responding Grace, well I went to login to mail.office365.com and it says "This account does not have an Outlook Web App mailbox."

I've also removed the Exchange Online license and then reassigned it after 30 minutes. Still seems stuck at "Setting up Exchange Online".

None of the new users I've created work. (this is a new account, we were using the trial over 30 days ago and recently came back to signup)

From other user postings with similar issues, either this began to work within it seemed about 24 hours, or there was some other issue suggesting that something went wrong in the initial provisioning of the Exchange services.

Please, can you assist here? I wanted to start migrating emails from our local server this weekend.

-NEP

Hi Grace, I did all of the above and it is still not working. It's been almost two days since we've signed up and paid for the account.

What is the next step?

thanks,

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your update.

The Set-MailboxServer cmdlet is used in Exchange Management Shell instead of the Windows PowerShell. By default, the CRA is not set to run automatically.

For more information about Exchange Management Shell, please refer to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123778.aspx

Hi Andy,

For further troubleshooting, I would like to collect some detailed information about the issue.

Can you show us the NDR record or the “delayed delivery” message?

You can also get some outbound mail flow information from the following link :

Hello Wilfred,

Thanks for your support. I see that my questions wasn't properly posted. Here I'm rephrasing it. Suppose I moved all my email  froom google apps to my new account user@xxxx.onmicrosoft.com my question is if once I move my domain to MSFT DNS those accounts in office 365 will automatically convert from user@xxxx.onmicrosoft.com to user@xxxx.com and from then on I will have all my already moved email at user@xxxx.com ? it seem that the answer is obvious and should be a yes but I just want to make sure.

Thanks for your help.

Mauricio

2 domains on 1 account

Hi,

Before I purchase the service, I would like to confirm if below scenario is possible:

 Domain Registrar
 Web/Email Hosting at:
Note
 domainA.com enom provider1
domainB.com 1&1 provider1 (as addon domain of domainA)
 For testing

Requirements:

  • Move both Email services to Office 365 (and keep the addresses, @domainA.com and @domainB.com);
  • Keep both Web sites at the current provider, provider1 and
  • Have DNS managed by the current service provider for domainA, but let Office 365 handle DNS for domainB (and just point back to provider1 for website access)

Please kindly confirm if this is possible (and the detailed steps if it is). Also, please let me know how I should calculate the number of required licenses (i.e. I use both domains- if the license is based on the user, the count is one; but if it is based on the email address, the count is 2 for I will have email address under each domain).

Thanks.

Hi ewq,

If you want to use the service in Office 365 for your domain, you should add the domain in Office 365 and point the DNS records to Office 365.

Please refer to the link below to add domain and point the DNS records to Office 365:

For Office 365 for small business:
Add your domain to Office 365 http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/ff637561.aspx
Verify a domain at a domain name registrar http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/gg584174.aspx
Change name server records at a domain registrar http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/gg549203.aspx

For Office 365 for enterprise:
Add your domain to Office 365 : http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-enterprises/ff637620.aspx
Verify a domain at any domain name registrar: http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-enterprises/gg584188.aspx
Edit DNS records for your Office 365 services : http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-enterprises/ff637620.aspx

If you want to host the website on previous server(keep your current website), please refer to the information below to achieve this:

1.P plan and not change name server

If you use Office 365 subscription Plan P and you do not change the name server records for your domain, please refer to the link below and just add the required DNS records for your domain to work with Office 365 services without redirecting name server records:
http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/hh416759.aspx

2.P Plan and change the name server

If you use Office 365 subscription Plan P and you have changed the name server records to point to Office 365, please refer to the link below for how to move your email to Office 365 and keep your current public-facing website:
http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/hh335299.aspx
http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/hh335298.aspx

3.E Plan

If you use Office 365 subscription Plan E, please make sure you do not select SharePoint Online service under Domain intent when you first add and verify your custom domain in Office 365.

Please check it by following the steps below:
1. Log in Office 365, click Admin
2. Click Domains->Domain properties
Make sure the SharePoint Online is not selected.

For the license, it will be counted by the emails address. You can get more information about user license by referring to the link below:
For Office 365 subscription of small and business:
http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/gg570298.aspx
For Office 365 subscription of enterprise:

Hi Mauricio,

Based on your description, if you had verified your domain in Office 365, you can follow these steps:

Go to Office 365 Admin page and click on Users. click the user account and choose the Details. Modify the User name with the Domain dropdown menu to your domain ”xxxx.com”.

After doing that, your mail will be directed to Office 365.

Thanks,

Jason Jiang

Moving to 365, Lost Current Website via GoDaddy...72 hours?

$

Hello.

We recently subscribed to Office 365.  I have a question:

1.  Our www.newdayrecovery.org was formerly hosted with GoDaddy.

2.  Our email was through ScaredRabbit.  ScaredRabbit added the txt information on their end, so we still had email running.

3.  I changed the nameservers in Godaddy to the microsoft nameservers as required by MS.

Now our website is down.  Godaddy can fix it, but I am wondering if there is a lag of time before the (formerly up and running website) is able to be accessed by visitors?

We didn't want to redesign our website but wanted to keep our client facing public website.  Mainly wanted Office 365 for collaboration, storage, email, Lync, etc.

Can someone please help?

Or should I just wait the 72 hours.  The nameservers were changed last night.  When I troubleshoot the domain in 365 it says that it is not enough time.

Thank you in advance,

Joshua.
