Website Costs

I created my website in Office Live where it was free, I then recreated it in Office 365 and used the 6 month trial, which is now about to expire. I do not need any of the apps in Office 365 (I already have Office 2010 on my PC), purely a website presence, do I have to purchase a user license?

Please explain how to cancel a license.

Anna,

Thanks for the follow-up.

Can you elaborate on what assumptions are being made by domain verify process ?  Can you explain the behavior of the refresh cycle for the "MS=" value used in the TXT record ?  This would help answer the remaining open questions on what's going on behind the scenes.

Thanks again,

George

Can't Verify Domain Ownership

Good afternoon,

I am attempting to verify ownership of my domain, www.iea-corp.com, and have received the following error:

My site and e-mail are hosted by a third party, and we would like to maintain our existing hosting setup for these assets.  Could you please assist us in verifying ownership of this domain?

It still says partially redelegated, everything is working the problem is I need to create some DNS A records which I am assuming I would be able to if the tool would recognize that I am fully redelegated.

Thank you,

Dan

"I changed my NS servers over to the ns1.bdm.microsoftonline.com and ns2.bdm.microsoftonline.com on 10/25 for my domain name. It has said my domain is verified ever since I did this"

Not sure exactly how you did it, but the above suggests you think there's a relationship between changing nameservers and verification, which there isn't. You shouldn't change nameservers until after the domain is verified. And I agree with David - you're better off avoiding the 365 nameservers and using a domain host where you have control and proper support.

Hi rak,

According to your description, I understand that you want to change the free domain name “companyA.onmicrosoft.com” to “companyB.onmicrosoft.com”.

However, I would like to explain that the default domain “companyA.onmicrosoft.com” is related to billings and other services, in this case, it cannot be directly changed.

Thanks,
Allen Zhang

Hi Jon,

The retention policies calculation is based on the modified date, which means the email in your screenshot dose not reach the limitation yet.

In addition, for the issue that it displays the item is expired, I would like to suggest you contact the Outlook support team.

Thanks,
Allen Zhang

I just added another domain, verified it and changed the NS servers and when I go to manage it is exactly how I expect it, the problem is the first domain I added still says partially redelegated. I did both exactly the same.

I currently have a 3 user subscription to P1. I want to convert at least 1 user to the premium which supposedly adds the license for office 2013 home & business. How do I upgrade to this plan? Do I gave to upgrade all users or can I just upgrade 1 user?

Hi otwcaravan,

Based on your description, I understand that you have been encountering the issue that the error message “Sorry! We can't process your request right now. You don’t have permission to access this page or perform this action.” occurred when signing in your Team Site in Office 365 Portal.

This may be caused by lacking the permission, to solve the issue, please following the steps below:
1. Log in to the Microsoft Online Portal with the admin account.
2. Click “Team Site” on the top of the Admin page.
3. Click “Site Action” dropdown list and select “Site Settings”.
4. Click “People and groups” under “Users and Permissions”.
5. Add your account to the proper group in order to give permission to the account.

Thanks,
Allen Zhang

Hi danielpwalker,

I have checked the DNS record on the primary domain you provided and found that there is a record which uses for verifying ownership has been added.

I’d like to suggest you check if you have registered any other Office 365 plans which is using (verified) the domain you are going to add in the current account. If there is one account has already verified the domain, I suggest you remove the domain in that account and then add it to the current account.

Thanks,
Kent Gu

Re: How can I found my IP address on Microsoft sites?

Hi VadimK,

As I understand, you want to host your website on Office 365, and your domain registrar is GoDaddy. Please correct me on time if I misunderstand the issue.

If so, you can change your public-facing website to use a custom domain name instead of using the domain name that you chose when you signed up for Microsoft Office 365 for professionals and small business, you may use the Change Address after you’ve added and verified the domain in Office 365. This you don’t need to get the IP address of the website, Microsoft will change this for you.
You may refer to the references below:
Use a custom domain name for your SharePoint Online public-facing website address

If you don’t want to use Office 365 to host your website, when you add your domain to Microsoft Office 365 for professionals and small businesses, you can keep your current public-facing website that uses your domain with an outside website hosting provider instead of hosting your website with Office 365. You need to create a DNS record in Office 365 called an A record that points to the IP address for your website. For the IP address of the website, you should contact your current hosting provider.
For detailed information, please refer to the article below:
Update DNS records to keep your website with your current hosting provider

Thanks,
Eric Sun
