Re: Composed CNAME entries (DNS Management)

Hi Peregrine,

As I understand, you want to add a CNAME which gets awverify.www.mydomain.com points to awverify.mydomain.azurewebsites.net to your domain registrar, but it doesn’t allow you to add the record value like awverify.www, you get an error. Please correct me on time if I misunderstand the issue.

If so, about the CNAME record value limitation, please consult your domain registrar for help.

In additional, about active the website hosts by Windows Azure, as Windows Azure is a different product from Office 365, in order to troubleshooting the issue effectively, I suggest you go to Windows Azure Forum for help, the engineers on Windows Azure Forum are more professional than us on Windows Azure product. You may find the Windows Azure Forum below:
http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/support/forums/

Thanks for your understanding.

Thanks,
Eric Sun

Change Password Notice does not disappear after changing

Office 365 just notified me that I need to change my password because it will expire soon.  I did so, logged out and back in, and the notice still appears.  Why?  I confirmed that the password did change.

Hi Clyde,

Before moving on, I’d like to know the following information for clarifying:

1. What subscription of Office 365 are you using?

2. Can you access the website before paying for the subscription?

3. Have you ever changed the website’s URL with your custom domain?

As far as I know, the trial should last 30 days, and then it will get into the 60-days grace period. After that, your account will be deleted.

If your account can be accessed successfully now, I recommend you to check the website URL in portal, and then try to access it again. If the issue persists, could you please capture the error messages and then post them here for further troubleshooting?

Thanks,

Nancy Xie

Hi SFMRD,

Based on your description, I understand that the notice about password will expire still appear after you change your password in OWA. If I have misunderstood anything, please feel free to let me know.

If this is the case, please clear the cache of the IE and close the IE and reopen it to see if this will help.

Thanks,
Linda Wang

I migrated from just Exchange Online to Plan P1 (Exchange + Sharepoint) paying $2 MORE. I shouldn't be losing features I had on a lower priced plan.

Hi KurianOfBorg,

The function to create Rule (transport rule) in ECP(Exchange Control Panel) is not available in Office 365 for small business(Exchange Online P1) currently. If you have some concern about the "transport rule in Office 365 for small business" feature in Office 365, I would suggest you submitting a feedback at

support.microsoft.com/.../survey.aspx

Additionally, if you have some issues in Office 365, I suggest you post a new thread  about the detailed information of the issue you encountered. this is so we could focus on your questions and provide more specific solutions for you.

Thanks,
Linda Wang

Thank you for your reply Eric. I'm using Office 365 as my DNS manager and it is indeed not allowing the CNAME awverify.www.

Is there anything you can suggest?

Peregrine

Hi bfb,

As I understand it, you are the administrator in your organization and would like to change your own password.

There are two ways for administrator to reset their own password.
1. If you can sign in Office365, you can click "My profile" to change your password. For details, please refer to this link:
http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-enterprises/ff637578.aspx
2. If you've forgot your password, please use the way below to reset your administrator password.

Hi Gaston,

Are you using Office 365 for Professionals and Small Businesses?  From your post, I understand that you want to move your email to Office 365 and keep your current public-facing website. Have I misunderstood anything?

Since the problem may caused by incorrect DNS records, please refer to the following information to check and change your DNS records.

Firstly, I’d like to confirm that if you have changed the name servers to Office 365. The link below can provide you steps about how to change the name servers to Office 365 and add an A record to keep your website with your current hosting provider:

onlinehelp.microsoft.com/.../hh335299.aspx

Alternatively, if you don’t want to change name servers of your custom domain to Office 365, you can also use your domain name with Office 365 without redirecting your name server records to Office 365. However, you need to configure the required DNS records yourself, and there will be some limitations in Office 365 services when Office 365 doesn’t host your DNS.

For more information, please refer to the following article:

DNS Configuration to keep mail and host at wix

$

I am trying to keep my email at microsoft365 but host my website at wix.com.  Previously I have verified my domain name and was using email and web hosting (public facing sharepoint) without problems.  I setup an account at wix.com and would like to go into my DNS manager and change the 'Type A' @ to point to the wix site.  I found literature here that would seem to support the idea that I could do that, however the '@' already exists and is not editable.  The reason I thought this would work is,

http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/hh335299.aspx

and

http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/hh335298.aspx

I can change my Name Server configuration at Go Daddy (where I own the domain) to point at wix and try to get wix to use microsoft365 as the mail server, but I would prefer to leave my mail alone and simply point the web site at the wix addres.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For a P account, change the site address back at admin>>domains and that should free up the A record. Given the choice I'd leave the domain hosted at GD though where you get more flexibility and real support.
