Re: Where to find my MS number?

Hi Yuen,

I have checked the DNS records of your domain www.desm.co.uk and you have successfully pointed it to Office 365.

Then I recommend that you add an A record and a CNAME record to this domain by Method 1 I provided previous. The value of the A record is the IP address http://82.165.85.98. An A record (address record) associates a domain name with an IP address.

After adding, you can visit your web which is hosted at 1 & 1 domain registrar via both URL  www.desm.co.uk and IP address. If you also want to visit it by s140821878.websitehome.co.uk, you can add another CNAME record to this domain, and the value of the record is www.desm.co.uk.

I have reconfigured my privacy settings. I’m sorry if having caused you any inconveniences.

Thanks,
Ella Huang

Re: Spam mail

Hi Benny,
From you description, you want to block a certain email which send a lot of spam to your side. Is it right?
Before moving on, I would like to confirm the detailed information about this issue.
1 Which Office 365 Plan are you using (P Plan, E Plan or A Plan)?
2 if you are receiving a lot spam emails from the same sender such as exilusj@inovativ.com or deferent sender?
If you are using E Plan or A Plan, you can manually setup FOPE on your side. We can configure the policy rules to block certain domain. Please refer to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff715218.aspx
Then, if you are using P Plan subscription and can’t configure FOPE on your side, you can also achieve your goal by adding the certain domain into blocked senders list in ECP (Exchange Control Panel).
For more details, please refer to Blocked Senders

Thanks,
Johnny

Sign Out and Sign In issue

$

Problem:

- User A Signs In to O365 on their PC and later Signs Out

- User B Signs In to O365 on same PC

- When User B goes to the Team Site it is presented as if he is User A (shows User A's name in top right hand corner), although Outlook Web Access and Home Page show User B as signed in

This is highly irregular as a Sign Out should mean exactly that. This problem means that User B can make changes under the name of User B and / or has access to files that they are not properly permissioned for.

Any thoughts gratefully received......

.com.au domains

I am currently trying to add a domin to office 365 and it is erroring out on the domain.

The domain is in the format <domainname>.com.au and it is saying that the damain is a sub domain and can not be added.

Does this mean i will need to purchase a .com domain? or is there another way to add .com.au domains

There should be absolutely no reason that you can't add a .com.au domain name. I have many customers with aussie domains.

Are you sure there is no additional period in your <domainname>?

What version of Office 365?

I have customers with the P1 plan with .com.au domains so I know it works.

Not sure if you are able to add your own domain with the P plan in trial mode though? Think I remember reading something about this. Think it has something to do with the requirement to delegate your DNS to microsoft.

RE: Autodiscovery will not work for one user only

Hi Gavin,

Thanks for your reply. I understand it now.  For now, we focus on the problem to rebuild the user " gavin@bizserv.co.za ". First thing, I would like you can create a account named gavin@.onmicrosoft.com ,and also test the autodiscover service on this account. If it works,  we are going to the second step, remove the proxy address gavin@bizserv.co.za which have added on Gavin.thompson@bizserv.co.za.  After that ,you change the user gavin@.onmicrosoft.com to gavin@bizserv.co.za, and wait for couple hours.

If you have any problem or questions ,please feel free to post them here.

Thanks, Neo Zhu

Hi Neo

OK, I have created the gavin@bizserv.onmicrosoft.com account and can confirm that it works fine including Outlook configuration with Autodiscover.  I have now removed the gavin@bizserv.co.za alias from the gavin.thompson@bizserv.co.za and changed the new account to now be gavin@bizserv.co.za.  I will leave it for the rest of the evening and then re-test the account tomorrow morning.

Thanks for your assistance

Gavin

No this did not fix the problem,

There are no rules, and according to the Delivery report I get the following error:

The log search service was unavailable on server 'by2prd0610ht003.namprd06.prod.outlook.com'.

I would really like to talk to someone about this, if we cannot get this resolved in the next week we will be migrating entirely over to another provider.

Hello Bcampe,

Thanks for your feedback.
I fully understand that you have concerns that the issue occurs after changing email service.

As I mentioned, there are no record shows that the emails have been sent to Office 365 currently. As a result, we need to confirm whether the emails have been delivered to Office 365 successfully.
If the sender email system support (here is Rackspace) confirms that the emails were delivered to Office 365 successfully, we will have a further investigation to find the root cause to fix the issue. Thanks for understanding.

Thanks,
Claud

what are the our options for tech support?

If there are no options, has anyone heard of a decent alternative for a small business service like 365 that is inexpensive that does provide live customer support.  No matter how inexpensive a system is, if you cannot handle issues quickly with technical support it's just not worth it.

Thanks

Were you ever at the same email provider as Ex-Sell?

I can see that their MX records are as follows:

ex-sell.com     MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = mx1.emailsrvr.com

ex-sell.com     MX preference = 20, mail exchanger = mx2.emailsrvr.com

Is there a chance that your domain used to be hosted on these same servers?

If so, there is a chance that emailsrvr.com think that they are still authorative for the rippleeffectmarketing.ca.  So when ex-sell send an email via their own servers, the server thinks that your domain is hosted there and tries to deliver it locally (therefore not sending it on to Office 365)

Yes, if you're on a P plan, it's called the Enterprise plan..... For $2 per user a month more you get phone support and a bunch of extra features. The tech support offers more quantity than quality in my experience but it's something. You can also add a partner to your account (which is free) and use them as the point of contact for tech issues.

I agree, if you support then you really should be on the E plan.

I've heard rumors that Microsoft will be offering better support on the P plans in future, but it's all speculation at this point.
