What do you mean by Lync 2013? I’ve already tried Lync 2013 client on my PC along with my 365 E1 subscription. it works fine. I did not noticed any operational difference except for the visual change. so my question refers to Lync 2013 cloud server and is my 365 E1 subscription already upgraded to this one?

i believe the 'true meaning' of your answer is: I will have to wait until my 365 E1 subscription is upgraded with Lync 2013 server, and possibly wait for updated releases of Lync clients for mobile devices.

But now, can i use any Lync voice features from my smartphone. What about SIP and "Call-Via-Work". I need some more info on these topics. how to utilize these features with mu E1 subscription?

Actually, although there are many similarities between Office 2013 and Office 365 Preview, they are two different products with different activation methods.
If you prefer to use Office 365 Preview together with Office 2013, you can upgrade to Preview version step by step, which Eben has offered above, and then download Office Professional Plus, with paying fees per month.
On the other hand, if you only need to use Office 2013, you can directly consult our Office 2013 supports here: Office 2013 forum. We’re sure our supports will use their expertise to deal with it efficiently.

Hi George,

The TXT record is also need to set the TTL. Generally, we also recommend set the TTL of TXT record to 3600 seconds or 1 hour, which will effect DNS propagation time through all DNS system. If the TTL is used more than 1 hour, it may take more times for DNS changes to take effect. However, it can take up to 72 hours for a changed record to propagate any assistance.

I am trying to set up 3 computers with 3 individual emails, on two of the PC's I am getting the standard wizard to set up outlook. Every time I try to configure it keeps giving me the following message;

 

  

 

and it can't find the exchange when it searches encrypted or unencrypted. This is the case with 2 of the PC's

 

My my PC I tried to configure manually and put in the server name that I was provided when logging into office 365 online. Now I can't seem to even open the normal wizard as it automatically takes me to the following page;

 

   I am literally at a complete loss. I have no idea where to go from here. I have tried enabling the cached exchange mode and that doesn't work either. What is really the most annoying part is that I can access all of these accounts on my iPhone! They synced PERFECTLY and I had no problems with it at all. I literally just put in the email address and password for that account and it works. So why wont it work on the PC's? I am also and at a loss as when I was looking for a cloud host for our email I specifically chose Microsoft as I was told that I would receive 24/7 IT level technical support.

 as you can see it CLEARLY states that this is part of the package. I need this technical support as unless I can get outlook working on our PC's today I am going to be made to move back to 1and1 or another cloud host, and I  really don't want to do that as everything has gone so smoothly up till now and I am a big fan of Microsoft.

As I understand it, you want to find a way to subscribe to planned maintenance notifications. If there is any misunderstanding, please correct me.

Currently, it is unavailable to subscribe Planned Maintenance Notification. When there's a need for maintenance downtime we'll schedule it and it will be announced in your Office 365 Portal. I believe that they'll try to make sure that all of such downtime occurs during non-business hours, but at the same time our system is designed in such a way as to not expose you to most of the maintenance, as we aim to keep the system up all the time.

I am trying to verify domain and have not been able to.

based on the result (both txt and mx), it should go through the verification. Please help.

 

By the way, the domain was sucessfully verified in a previous trial. But for some reason, the login does not work anymore for that trial, and after contacting the support, they advise me to setup a new one.

Office 365 Migration incomplete

I started to migrate to Office 365 Preview a couple of days ago and I now have no access to my company e-mail accounts - they seem to be lost in space somewhere.

 

I can no longer receive any mail.

 

I can login to my Office 365 Preview account but if I try to go to the Outlook, Calendar, or People sections the IE tab says Loading... and it stays there perpetually. One window since yesterday afternoon.

 

My domain is hosted with Network Solutions.

My e-mail is hosted by Concentric (formerly Microsoft "bCentral" which MS transferred to Concentric)

I was forwarding this e-mail to ExchangeMyMail for hosted exchange.

 

The NS record has updated, it appears that the MX record has updated.

 

Please help as I'm now being told that e-mail sent to me is getting bounced which means that emails to my employee are probably also getting bounced.

Lync 2010 client does not work with Windows 8

Hello... I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.  When I went to reinstall the Lync client from the Office 365 downloads, it tells me that the client is not supported.


I installed the Lync client from the Windows store but it does not appear to provide the same level of functionality as the Lync 2010 client.  


I downloaded the Lync 2013 Basic client and it won't install on my Windows 8 installation.


Thoughts?

I have the same exact problem as well, with the same setup: Windows 8 Pro, Office 2010, and uses Office 365. I ran the Microsoft Office 365 desktop setup several times, restart, and still cannot solve the problem. Every time when the upload failed, the upload center would show the error massage that says "Upload Failed Your changes were saved but could not be uploaded because of an error. You may be able to upload this file using the server Web page."

Correction, the upload center just says upload failed, an error message that I quoted would then show up on Office 2010.

Hi Richard,

I just successfully run all commands with sample CSV file after I deleted the “Manager” column. So please directly delete the column or don’t input any characters, then run the command again.
You also can create a test contact via ECP, when we choose Manager for the test contact, we only can select users or contacts from the Global Address List , can’t directly input. I think this is why we can’t input any characters in “Manager” column when we import contacts via powershell.

Thanks for your post here.

In regard to the issue, since this could be caused by various reasons, to solve the issue, please try the steps below:

  1. What’s the version of Windows 8? Is it 32-bit or 64 bit version? Please note that Lync should be keep in the same version with the OS.
  2. When you said install Lync for Windows Store, do you mean that you’ve installed a Lync Windows 8 App and login in without error?
  3. Before you install the new Lync client, have you check in the Program tab in Control Panel to see if there is any old Lync versions was installed in the PC? If there is, please uninstall them first and try install the new one to see if it will work.  

I’ve done some tests with Lync 2013 preview in my Windows 8 and found nothing wrong, I suggest you to download Lync again from Office 365 with the same version I mentioned and try again. Please feel free to post your updates here at your convenient time.
