Office 2010 will not upload document to office 365 since Windows 8 upgrade

I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro recently, and since then, Office 2010, will not upload document to Office 365. I ran the Microsoft Office 365 desktop setup several times, restart, and still cannot solve the problem. Every time when the upload failed, the upload center, via office word or other office sofware, would show the error massage that says "Upload Failed Your changes were saved but could not be uploaded because of an error. You may be able to upload this file using the server Web page."

Hi En-Tie,

As you encountered an issue when you uploading a document to SharePoint online, my suggestions are as below for your reference:

1. Create a new simple document (.docx) file on your machine.

2. Create a new library and ensure you have the permission to upload files.

3. Try to upload the file again.

4. If the issue persists, please try to use Open with Explorer with IE10 to upload files and see if the workaround performs fine.

Thanks,
Maggie Li

Hi benlo,

Based on your situation, firstly I suggest you try to login your expired trial account and remove your domain.

To do this, log into Office 365 portal, click Domains on the left panel; select your domain; click Remove.

If the expired trail account cannot be accessed, you can contact our billing or subscription represent for help, please refer to Contact Support for a billing or subscription issue.

Thanks,

Nancy Xie

You need to renew your domain or if you did already, reset the dns settings.

Setting up SharePoint... this may take a few minutes

I have seen many posts like mine with only one answer.  Wait 24 hrs and see if it fixes it's self.  I have waited 3 days and nothing yet.  What's up?

Thanks,

Joe

can't recive emails

Hi,

we are planning to migrate to Office 365. but while doing the setup. I found out that I need to move my NS which I really don't want to do now. so I have found some setup to change the DNS server I have done as the setup says except that my MX record shows in my DNS empty so I left empty in at my host.

the question is I can't receive any emails. so I decide to change my NS cause I notice it says it will redirect to my host company and that won't effect the website. so what is the right process to make sure that I receive emails and still keep my website running at my host company?

my website is edesigner.com.sa

Hi Vincent,

I’d like to confirm if you have added and verified the domain in Online Portal. I have checked the DNS record for the domain and found there are no any DNS records which relate to Office 365. If you haven’t added/verified the domain in Office 365, I suggest you add and verify the domain. For more information regarding add and verify domain, please refer to Add your domain to Office 365.

If you have already added and verified domain in Office 365, please check if the domain has expired.

Thanks,
Kent Gu

Hi clement,

Based on my experiences, if you post a team site content onto a public-facing website the visitor will need to log in when you click the team site links.

For SharePoint Online in Office 365 for professionals and small businesses there is only one site collection which is the public-facing website. The Team Site is also a sub-site under the public-facing website. You can create multiple sub-sites under the site collection. You can create the sub-site which is same level as the default Team Site from SharePoint Designer.

Basically, the users won’t have option to access Site Settings, whereas administrators will have this option in Site Actions.

I’d like to confirm the last question if you are asking why the document property you designed can’t be fully viewed from SharePoint Workspace. If yes, the SharePoint Workspace mainly provides an easy way to view/download documents store on the TeamSite. It will only retrieve the pre-design property of the document from the backend database. If you want to view the completed document property, you will require accessing the document library from web.

Thanks,
Kent Gu

I just started playing with office 365, I already have a web site with powweb. I pointed an MX record to office365 like it says in the setup but the last step says to change the DNS settings to point to office365, won't that also change my site hosting?

Hi Joe,

Before moving on, I'd like to clarify the current situation:

1. Which Office 365 Plan do you use, P1 plan or E plan?

2. Does the issue affect all the users, or only some special users? If it is for a special user, please un-assign SharePoint Online license for the user, wait for about 20 minutes, and re-assign SharePoint Online license.

When a user is accessing SharePoint Online for the first time, it does need some time to prepare the user's profile for SharePoint Online. Please ensure you have assigned SharePoint Online license to the user, wait for a moment, and refresh the page to see if you can log in successfully.

In addition, could you provide more details about the issue or it'll appreciate if you capture a screenshot and post here.

Thanks,
Aaron Yuan

Hi Khalid,

I understand that you are using Office 365 P1 plan and would like to keep your own website.

Based on this situation, you just need to add responding DNS records to your domain provider.

I see that you can't receive emails. From the domain you provided, I can't see any MX record point to Office 365, It's the reason of the issue.
Please add the MX record on your domain provider and set the preference value to "0".

Thanks,
Aaron Yuan

I have still have no public facing website. How do I make a claim for compensation for my website being off line since October 16? I am VAR of cloud services and this is not reassuring.

I enter my URL: intranetinitiatives.sharepoint.com (P1) and get a https://intranetinitiatives.sharepoint.com/SitePages/Home.aspx

which is a (E3) Team Site home.

No, it's not. In a P account that's a wiki page within the public site collection that's created by default. Either you set it at as the home page of your public site or it got corrupted (which seems to happen to a lot of people).  Unfortunately the option to reset a public page as the home page was disabled in the ui by MSFT so you'll have to do it in Sharepoint Designer.

Open the site  All Files>>Pages>>highlight default.aspx and click "set as home page" in the ribbon.
