Re: O365 won't work properly with IE10

Bump. I also have the same problem.

I upgraded to IE 10. I can no longer connect to my Sharepoint 'Network Locations' using Windows Explorer.

If I try to click on one of my 'Network Location' directory folders I get the following error message:

(I am an administrator, therefore I know I have the highest permissions.)

This has been working perfectly for the past year we've been using O365. However I'm now forced to use the web-app to access my documents hosted in Sharepoint at the moment.

Hi again, after a few more community thread searches I think that the problem we have discussed within this thread is the same one as the one discussed here:

community.office365.com/.../75412.aspx

Also it seems like one of the latest office updates has caused the problem... Could you possibly produce a fix to this at MS, or how should we proceed?

Hi Clive,

Before moving on, I want to confirm the following information with you first.
1. Did you create any other users when using this trial account?
2. Which plan of Office 365 you sign up as a trial account and then purchase it?

As I understand, you have an Office 365 trial account and you are the Administrator, after purchase an Office 365 plan, the trial period ends alerts still appears in the Admin page. Please correct me on time if I misunderstand the issue.

If so, please make sure that you have paid successfully. If you purchase the plan just now, I suggest you logout and login to see if the alert still there.

Based on my experience, when we sign up an Office 365 trial account and then create some users to do some test, all the users we created have been assigned trial licenses at that time. For more detailed information, please refer to the article below: About expired subscriptions. You may decide which users to transfer to paid licenses users.

In additional, if you still have any concerns about this, I suggest you contact our Support team for billing and subscription, you may refer to the link below: http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/ff652569.aspx
Thanks for your understanding.

Hi Kyle,

Do you mean that the mapped network drives that connect to SharePoint Online sites on your computer won’t work again after the IE upgraded to IE 10?

To resolve the problem, please disconnect the network drive and re-connect it again referring to the steps below:

1. Sign in to the SharePoint Online site by using your Office 365 credentials. Make sure that you click to select the Keep me signed in check box.

2. Right-click Computer, and then click Map Network Drive.

3. Click the Connect to a Web site that you can store your documents and pictures link, and then click Next two times.

4. Type the site URL, click Next, and then follow the instructions in the wizard. For example, type https://contoso.sharepoint.com.

In addition, you can refer to the following article to troubleshoot problems when using mapped network drives:

support.microsoft.com/.../2616712

Since I noticed that the problem you met is different with James above, if the issue persists or anything unclear to you, it will be better if you can post a new question in the forum, so we can help you more efficiently with your situation.

Thanks,

Nancy Xie

Re: Updates to DNS CNAME and SRV records

$

Hi bblank,

I am sorry for the misunderstanding. To delete/edit the CNAME and SRV records you pointed out will cause unexpected error when you use Office 365 services, so that once you point the name server to Microsoft you won’t be able to delete/edit those records in DNS manage.

One way to achieve the requirement is you post the name server back to the domain register and add those require DNS records at that side, please see Add your domain to Office 365 but continue to manage your domain's DNS records.

However there are some limitations in Office 365 services when Microsoft doesn’t host your DNS.  If you add your domain name to Office 365 without redirecting your name server records to Office 365, consider the following:
• SharePoint Online: If you want to host a public website by using SharePoint Online, you must use the default address http://domain.sharepoint.com. It isn’t possible to use a different domain for the public website.
• Domains troubleshooting tool: Because you didn’t configure your name server records to point to Office 365 name servers, the Office 365 domains troubleshooting wizard will always report that your name server records are incorrect. You can disregard this warning because you have manually created the DNS records for each of your services.
• DNS manager: Microsoft Office 365 for professionals and small businesses provides DNS management tools that you can use to add custom DNS records. However, if you create, or have already created, custom records by using this tool, because the name server records for your domain doesn’t point to Office 365, the custom records won’t work. You must create, or re-create, any custom records by using your current DNS hosting provider.
• Future Office 365 updates: When we add new services to Office 365, we won’t be able to automatically add the DNS records that are required to enable the services to work on your domain. To use the services, you must manually add the DNS records at your DNS hosting provider.

Thanks,
Kent Gu

Hi Torgeb,

For further troubleshooting, please send these snapshots without masking any private information by Private Message. One is the picture of the domain's status, the other is the picture of DNS manager.
I have sent the private message with the subject of <Request for DNS picture> to you.

To access the Private Message:
1. Please go to the Your details section on the right side of the community site.
2. Click Private Messages.
3. Click the subject title of the response to read the message.

Re: Office 2010 will not upload document to office 365 since Windows 8 upgrade

Hi En-Tie and Thomas,

I looked through this thread. I understand the problem is that with SharePoint Online Professional and Small Business / Windows 8 / Office 2010, you can’t publish an Office document in Office 2010 to SharePoint Online.

Windows 8 is now supported to be used with Office 365. At this point, I suggest you check the Windows Updates for your Windows 8 system, see if there is any updates for Office. In addition, please refer to the following article to configure the Upload Center:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/microsoft-office-upload-center-HA010388348.aspx

If you are still facing the problem, please let me know.

Thanks,
Evan Zhang

Hi. I just checked the Windows update once more, "No updates are available"! As said, I have a brand new laptop with both Windows 8 and Office 2010 straight "off-the-shelf", and I have already installed all updates that have been available, also:

I have as well checked your article to configure the Upload Center, which didn't help me with this issue; the problem persists!! :(

I need to grant everyone in the company 'view' access to one particulat users calendar.

I know this can be done through outlook 2010 itself but i need a powershell command for this if possible?

The way i found that worked for me is below:

$o365cred=get-credential

(Type in admin login details)

$Session = New-PSSession -ConfigurationName Microsoft.Exchange -ConnectionUri ps.outlook.com/powershell -Credential $o365cred -Authentication Basic -AllowRedirection

Import-PSSession $session

Set-MailboxFolderPermission -Identity “bob@domain.com:\calendar” -User Default -AccessRights Reviewer

This worked fine for me

Re: Questions on changing our O365 plan

I think I may have gotten a bit confused during this discussion. Could you clarify the following for me: Is it possible to automate the migration of mailboxes from a P1 plan to an E3 plan?

The discussion of using the Outlook client to manually move mails across makes it seem this is the only way... Is it still possible to use a .CSV import, or a perform a Cutover migration as mentioned here: help.outlook.com/.../ms.exch.ecp.emailmigrationwizardexchangelearnmore.aspx

I don't mind if I have to re-create a .csv for an automated import, but manually moving 50 mailboxes of between 1-18GB of mail isn't really a feasible plan.

Changing Domain Name Registrars

$

My Office365 domain registration transferred to Melbourne IT when I migrated from OLSB. The domain shows as "Verified" in O365.  I've just had a renewal notice from Melbourne and their charges are very high. I'd like to transfer my domain to another registrar, ideally in the UK. If I make this transfer will it have any impact on my Office365 services, especially email and website? Are there any other actions I would need to take?

Viewing other mailboxes

Hi, have just signed up to the 30 day free trial and so far so good. However, there are only myself and my husband using it and we need to see each others mailboxes.  I've tried using the

Add-MailboxPermission <user's mailbox> -User admin -AccessRights FullAccess -InheritanceType All

script in PowerShell but I get an error saying that Add-MailboxPermission is not a receognised cmdlet.

Any ideas?
